NEOM Cave Demo Procedure
Getting power to the Cave
Check if there is power to the cave already:
Go through the back door, and check to see if there are blinking lights on the network infrastructure above the monitor.
Also look down the corridor to see if the power supply is lit up with lots of lights like the image below
Power supply for system lit up with LEDs
Turn on the large subwoofer behind the door, by pressing the power button on the back of it.
If the power is not on, find and speak to the building manager. He will flip the breaker switch which will give power to the system. Then repeat the above steps.
Turning System on
Go behind the structure, and press the power button on the first computer in the stack, marked “ICE”
Return back to the podium inside, and wait for machine to come online.
Open Surface Tablet (Password: 1glooVision) and click the ICE Control Panel
Select Apps, then Open Sound Control
Click Projector Control, and then ON.
Go back, click Server Control, then Cluster ON.
The system should now be in ICE mode, which is the default state.
Viewing an Unreal Model
Return to Open Sound Control, Select Unreal.
On the main PC, open Switchboard (Desktop, top right)
When switchboard opens, select File, then Load Config.
Select the config file, which corresponds to the model you wish to open.
Click the “link” icon, to join the cluster together.
Click the “Start Cluster” icon to start viewing the model. It may take some time to open depending on it’s size.
To Close an Unreal model, return to switchboard (using Alt + Tab) and press the X button, or press Esc from inside the game.
Unreal will take control of the mouse, so you have to alt+Tab out of the game in order to regain control.
Turning off the system
On the Surface, return to the Open Sound control page, in Apps.
Select Projector Control and then OFF
Select Server Control, and then Cluster Off
Finally on Server Control, click Main Server Off
Return the tablet to the podium, and plug it in to charge (the magnetic wire in the first drawer charges it)
Everything is now powered down and safe to be turned off at the breaker switch by the buildings manager.
