Evolution XR [EVXR]

Evolution XR is a mixed reality learning and development platform. Designed to simulate crisis management, operations and process training, and human performance development.

Currently it’s used by Igloo clients for operations training on a liquefied natural gas production facility.

It’s built using Unity, and the developers of the program have integrated the Igloo Toolkit.

Setting up EVXR

When the Igloo Version of Evolution XR is downloaded, it will be Igloo-ready as soon as it is launched.

When started for the first time, either via Home or ICE Home, it will open to a login page.

Sessions after this, will not require a login.

Once logged in, you will arrive at a landing page like below. Select 3D session to begin.

For a simple session, select Single Person. To explore the multi person session type; Please view the Evolution XR Help page.

For demo purposes we have a BP based demonstration available.

On the following two pages select BP, then next

Finally you will arrive at a choice of scenario: Distillation Tower, Hazard Spotting, or LOTO. Select the scene of your choosing and then Go To Scenario.

At this point you will enter a virtual world, and the Igloo output will have started. From this point onward, all interaction is done via the Igloo Canvas.

Viewing the Igloo Output

Ensure that your Igloo software is running
Start Evolution XR; Login; and Open a scene. (EVXR can be set as an Icon on Igloo Home)
Within your Igloo Software you should now be able to see IglooUnity as a Spout input.
EVXR will now visible on the Igloo Structure’s walls, and controllable with Igloo Touch, or Mouse and Keyboard

Navigation within EVXR

Moving around a scene is done via keyboard and mouse, or Xbox / Steam controller, or Igloo Touch. Just like any other unity based Igloo software.

Selecting buttons and clicking on parts of the software is done with Spacebar or A button (xbox / Igloo Touch)

Hitting Shift, Right mouse button, or X button (Xbox / Igloo) to jump to the next saved view
