Igloo Interactive Office

Igloo Interactive Office is an In-house created project, developed in Unity.

It should be pre-installed on all outgoing Igloo Immersive Players as part of our Demo Content offering.

It’s a simple to control application, with a lot of point and click interactivity.

Starting Interactive Office

Interactive Office Icon

As part of the demo suit, Interactive Office will be setup within the Igloo software. Either as an Icon within Igloo Home, or as a session available within ICE.

So to launch the software, it’s as simple as loading the session or selecting the Interactive Office icon within Igloo Home.

Controlling Interactive Office

With Interactive Office being built using the Unity based IglooToolkit, it has the ability to be controlled by all devices that are supported by the Igloo system. Including, but not limited to; Optitrack, VRPN, Xbox, Steam, Igloo Touch, and ICE control Panel.

Forwards direction is maintained by the crosshair on the Igloo output; pointing the crosshair and pressing Up on a controller or joystick will move the player towards the direction of the crosshair.

If moving up or down in the world is required, positioning the crosshair at the floor or ceiling and then pressing forward will cause the Igloo to float up or down respectively.

Interaction

The crosshair in Interactive Office is represented by a Red Dot.

Hovering this Red Dot over most pieces of furniture, walls, and even the windows; and then ‘clicking’ using either right mouse click, or the A Button on a controller, will bring up a menu.

This menu will allow you to change the option of whichever item you’ve selected. For instance the tables have been selected, which has bought up the option to change the table layout.

Once a change has been made, it’s metrics are recorded and the information regarding the room can be found on any of the projected surfaces.

By far the biggest change available is selecting the windows and viewing the outside as it changes from Day to Night

This demo is a really good showcase of what is possible with simple interactivity.
