Advanced - Creating and using Layouts and Regions
A layout is a method of dividing the canvas into smaller subcanvases. These subcanvases are known as regions and apply to any Capture Input - in a traditional Igloo Install, this is any content in Igloo Capture, Igloo Web and Igloo Home, although more content can be defined as Capture Inputs.
The Layouts UI can be found in the Igloo Warper application as seen here:
Clicking Show Layouts will display lines, similar to the control points, that define the borders of each region. Clicking the arrows will change the layout, providing a further menu for customisation of the selected layout:
The default layout Horizontal 2 for instance shows three regions - Region 0 starts 0% of the way through the canvas on both the x and y axis (represented by Left and Top being 0) and finishing 100% of the way through the canvas on the x and y axis (represented by Right and Bottom being 1) - representing the full canvas.
Region 1, similarly starts at the same point but finishes 50% of the way through the canvas on the x axis (Right at 0.5). This subcanvas will therefore be the left hand side of the canvas.
Region 2, however starts halfway through (Left at .5) before finishing at the end of the canvas (Right at 1.0). This subcanvas therefore represents the right hand side.
Content can be “bound” to a subcanvas in either Igloo Web or Igloo capture demonstrated below:
In Igloo Capture the same options can be found in the controls panel as seen below:
