Winter 2021: Restoring from Backup
Software Used:
Software name | Release version (if applicable) | Software icon |

Igloo Warper | 1.17.2 |
|
Following an installation, it’s likely your Igloo Technician will leave a backup of your software settings as-installed either on the desktop, or stored ready for recall whenever necessary. This will probably be a .zip file, and restoring from backup is as simple as extracting the file to the settings folder.
The settings folder is currently %localappdata%\”Igloo Vision”\IglooWarper (simply replace Igloo Warper with any application name), but there’s a handy button in the help tab of the Warper that will open a file explorer right to the correct location, as demonstrated in the video below:
Taking a backup:
The first thing to do when restoring from backup is always to take a new backup. This ensures that, should the as-is backup no longer be suitable, there’s a new backup to restore from.
Close the warper
Go up one level to %localappdata%\”Igloo Vision”
Select the application to backup
Right Click → 7Zip → Add to Archive
Name the archive and press OK
Then store that file wherever is convenient. It can stay in the same folder, or it can be moved to another, more easily accessed folder like the desktop.
Restoring from a backup:
For ease of use, first copy the backup into the %localappdata%\”Igloo Vision” folder
Right click the archive → 7Zip → Extract to IglooWarper/
Choose to replace all when prompted
And the Warper will now be restored to a previously taken backup.
