Canvas Size:
The most important thing when generating an output canvas for Igloo Web is the Canvas size. If the web canvas is to be “Full Screen” , the canvas size should be equal to the resolution provided in the content creation guidelines. Smaller proportions of the screen can be taken from the same canvas resolution
For many standard Igloo installs, a canvas resolution of 8000*1000 is suggested. This guide will use that as the base canvas.
To set the canvas size in Igloo Web, open the Edit, and Canvas menus, and choose from one of the presets, or set a custom width and height.
Creating a canvas of content:
These, broadly, fall into two categories. Full-screen content (Webgl examples, Google Slides etc) or multi-browser canvases.
Webgl content, in particular, often scales well with larger canvas sizes and provides an additional interactivity.
To open a new webpage, replace the URL in the address bar with the target URL:
Note the menu in the right hand corner of the screenshot. It’s very small and difficult to interact with. This is because the Igloo Web window is fitting the entire 8000*1000 canvas on to a much lower resolution terminal display. Use the +/- buttons to zoom in/out to more accurately interact with smaller elements
Bookmarks:
Configurations can be saved as bookmarks for quick access by using the + button next to the bookmarks tab:
Multiple browsers
Igloo Web also supports multiple browsers being opened on the same canvas, allowing for a variety of web content to be shown all at once. Sticking with the canvas size of 8000*1000, increase the number of browsers to the required number in the Edit tab:
Navigating to a new web address using the address bar will update the website on the active browser only. This way, 5 different websites can be chosen to fill the 5 browsers.
