YouTube

The YouTube 360 layer is equipped with a range of customised layer properties that streamline the playback of 360-degree YouTube videos.

URL

This field is for inputting the URL of the YouTube video you want to view in 360 degrees.

Resolution

This sets the resolution of the webpage that displays the YouTube player.

Detect Resolution

Automatically fetches the actual resolution of the YouTube video and updates the layer to match it precisely. This feature helps eliminate any letterboxing around the video when displayed on the Canvas, ensuring a perfect fit.

Auto Max Resolution

Enabling this setting forces video playback at the highest available resolution, overriding the default behavior that adjusts based on your network bandwidth. This is particularly useful when watching 360 degree videos.

Presets

The YouTube layer offers the following presets:

Non 360

This preset is used for regular YouTube videos that are not recorded in 360 degrees. It displays the video in its original format without any additional adjustments.

360

Suitable for standard 360-degree YouTube videos with an aspect ratio of 2:1.

Embeddable YouTube Playback

The successful playback of YouTube videos within YouTube Layer relies on the video being embeddable. Whether or not the video can be embedded is controlled by the uploader of the video. If the video displays an error message indicating it cannot be played due to embed restrictions, an alternative solution is to use a WebView layer.
