Controlling Igloo Showroom

Headset Movement

On first entry you should see a blank 6m Cylinder, this is our most popular structure, and is great for testing content.

The blank screen is just because no content is playing on the Igloo Warper.

To change to a different Igloo structure, you will need to move around the room. To do this, look at your controller, it will indicate the correct button to press to teleport around the room.
Press and hold this button to create a teleport "jump", then let go to "jump" to the highlighted location.

Teleporting using VR Wand

Move towards a wall of pictures, which will illustrate each structure you can visualize.
Move close and adjascent to a picture and hold out your controller until it the button turns yellow, then click the trigger on the controller to select that Igloo structure.

Selecting 6m Dome using VR Wand

You can also navigate further around the room to survey the entire Igloo structure, you are able to teleport to various locations, and even onto the 2nd floor within the room.

You can get a good view of your selected igloo structure from the 2nd floor!

Playing Content

To play some content within the dome, navigate to the Input Selection board, near the wall of Igloos.

Spout inputs are Green, and the Warper Canvas is the Igloo Warper system. So to play your own content from within the warper please select this.
NDI inputs are Blue, and can be pulled from anywhere on the local network. To test this functionality, download NDI Tools from this LINK and run the Test Patterns application.
You will see the name of your desktop appear after a few short seconds, as a blue button.
RTMP Streams are Red - RTMP Streams are currently not supported, but will be coming out in a future update.

PC Menu System

To create a demo system for our Igloo Sales team during the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020, we created a series of props, stand ins, and adjustment systems for the Igloo Systems we sell.

This enabled our sales team to setup virtual demos with our clients, and these features remain part of the Igloo Showroom PC based experience.

There was no need to add these to the VR experience as it wasn’t being used by our sales team. However there are future plans to do so.

To bring up the PC menu system, hold down TAB. This brings up a menu wheel. You then move your mouse around the screen to select the menu segment you would like.
Then release TAB to select that sub-menu.

Helpers

These are human figures that are designed to show the scale of each Igloo structure, and demonstrate possible use cases.

To select a helper, Select the Helpers menu from the radial menu, then select a helper from the top menu of possible helpers.

Then they will automatically be placed near your mouse cursor, and can be placed on the floor by Left Clicking. You can also rotate them by holding R

Covers

For our Cylinder based structures, we have a customisable outer cover which can be tailored to a clients design. We’ve included a few designs within the Igloo Showroom program to demonstrate how effective this can be.

To select a different cover, select the Covers section of the radial menu to bring up the Covers Menu.

Then select using the Left Mouse Button which cover design you would like to use.
This is then applied to every structure that supports custom outer covers.

Settings

The settings menu contains adjustments for the Igloo structures and player, and a reminder of the extended keybindings.

Wrap Adjustment - Rotates the content inside the igloo by -360 and 360 degrees.

Vertical Adjustment - Flips the content on it’s Y axis. This is used for content that might appear upside down. An occasional problem with NDI sources.

Cover Adjustment - Rotates the outer cover design by -360 and 360 degrees.

Field of View - Adjusts the camera field of view between 1-180 degrees. This can create a very useful fish-eye effect for demonstrating larger spaces on a single screen.

Mouse Speed - Adjusts how fast the view rotation occurs when holding the Right Mouse Button

Igloo Specific Controls - The extended keybindings for special structures.

Furnitures

Furnitures are static props to demonstrate various layouts possible within an Igloo Structure. We’ve also included some of our additional hardware so it’s possible to mock up the placement of those too.

To place a piece of furniture, select the Furniture menu from the radial menu, to bring up the Furniture Menu.

Select the piece of furniture you wish to place, and it will appear under your mouse cursor.

Left Click when you would like to place it, or press R to rotate it.

Deleting Placed Objects

To delete a placed object (Furniture, or Helpers) simply grab it, by Click & Holding the Left Mouse Button.

Then drag it into the floor so it dissapears under the floor, and Release the Left Mouse Button.
