(1.4.0) Desktop UI - The Desktop User Interface
The tutorials in this section are all based on using the Igloo Core Engine Desktop User Interface.
The Igloo Core Engine Desktop UI is comprised of four main sections:
Canvas view
The Canvas view is where all Layers are drawn and can be managed from.
The grey border within the Canvas view represents the Canvas region, objects placed outside of the Canvas region will not appear within the output.
Canvas Navigation
Note: these controls will only work when the Canvas UI toggle is set to Off. When the Canvas UI toggle is On, the magnify buttons on the toolbar and the minimap can be used for navigating the Canvas view.
Zooming - middle mouse button scroll
Reset Zoom - middle mouse button press
Pan - right mouse drag
Layer List
The Layer List displays all of the layers contained within the Workspace. The order of the layers within the Layer List determines the order in which they are drawn to the Canvas (bottom to top).
Layer properties
The Layer properties view contains all the settings for the currently selected layer. The view is split into two sections, the left section shows generic properties which are the same for all layer types, the right section shows properties specific to the selected Layer type.
Main Menu Bar
The main menu bar holds the Workspace, Session, Layer, Config, View and Help menus.
Workspace menu - create new workspaces and access workspace properties.
Session menu - create, save and load sessions.
Layer menu - add new layers with selected layer type.
Config - access global configuration settings which apply across workspaces.
View - access properties for the Canvas view.
Help - links for documentation, support and version update.
