Barco F80 Warping and Focusing
This page outlines how to refocus and warp a system using Barco projectors.
You will require access to
Barco Projector Toolset
Igloo Core engine with Testcard
Focusing
Step 1:
As the Barco f80s move when focusing we must do that before warping.
Firstly, Open Barco projector toolset and select a projector. (Projector Toolset is Pinned to the task bar).
When selected it should have a red dotted line around it like the above.
Step 2
We now need to select the correct Test card to allow us to focus.
Click test pattern at the top. select “Focus Green” from the list. Then click the eye Icon to enable it.
The Test card should look like the below.
Step 3:
Now we can see the correct Test Card we can focus the projector.
Head to the Installation Tab at the top. And use the up and down arrows to focus the projector. Please see the video below.
Step 4:
After the projector has been focused we need to disable to test card. Do do that. Head to “Test pattern” Tab and click the Eye icon with the line through it. This will disable the test card and bring back the proper content.
Warping
Step 1:
First we need to open Igloo Core engine and open the Warping Session. If you don't have a warping session you need to add the Systems test card as a layer and make it fill the canvas.
Step 2:
Now we can test the test grids, we can pick a projector to warp into place.
Open Projector Toolset, select the first projector, head to the warping tab and click Show Warp File. Then click Launch Warp UI.
Step 3
After clicking Launch Warp UI nothing will happen. This is because a Warping Settings box has appeared on another screen. Typicaly this opens at the bottom of projector 1 on the left hand side. Move your mouse accorss and drag it on to the main screen.
The box should look this this.
Change the Nbr of rows and columns to 9. Then click OK.
Step 4:
You will then be met with these 2 screens.
On the left you have you settings and navigation buttons. On the right you have a layout of what the screens warp currently looks like. You can use your mouse to click on these points to select.
The main points are in red, Move these first. Get these perfectly in the corners and the middle ones lined up with the lines.
The second points are in green. Move these after you have your red points fully aligned.
After your red and green points are in place. You can move the blue points for fine tuning.
To move the point, select it by clicking it on the right screen. Next, change the “step” Value. The number represents the number of pixels it will move per click. I normally find 2-3 is a good amount for fine tuning a system.
After you have set the steps you can use the move arrows to move that point where you need it to be. As advised before move Red points first, then green, then blue.
You may need to come back to the same projector a couple of times after you have warped others.
Step 4:
After you have finished your warp you need to save it. Click the save Icon bottom left of the screen.
Either over write your last save or give it a new name and click save.
After its saved you can close both warping windows.
Step 5:
After you have saved the file you need to reapply the warp.
Click Upload warp file and select the file you just saved.
Then, Activate your warp by clicking activate warp file and selecting the correct file.
Step 6:
Repeat on all projectors until the system is fully aligned.
