SpaceWalk is a new digital platform that lets architects and developers create an immersive virtual tour of their projects that can easily be shared with others. SpaceWalk is designed for both indoor and outdoor environments and the tour can be viewed on any device, including mobile.
An example tour is available here: https://tmrw.inc/sw/140-broadway
Integration
This integration is built by the TMRW Spacewalk development team supported by the Igloo application integration team. The integration enables the 360 output to be displayed in a suitable format for Igloo immersive spaces. The integration can be activated using a URL parameter.
The igloo integration is included in the Igloo Core Service and the URL endpoints are:
localhost:800/spacewalk/iglooview - this gives the cubemap output of the 360 scene.
localhost:800/spacewalk/control - this is the control page for navigating around the space.
localhost:800/spacewalk/control/?yawLocked=1 - this URL parameter prevents any rotations of the Y (up) axis in the iglooview.
Igloo View
The iglooview endpoint should be loaded into a WebView in ICE.
The main properties of the WebView are:
Canvas size - must be a 6:1 aspect ratio, use 12000 x 2000 to give a high resolution image.
Effects - apply the Cubemap to Equirectangular and TruePerspective effects.
Control View
The control endpoint can be loaded on a browser on the Igloo Media Player using the url http://localhost:800/spacewalk/control. To load this on another device e.g. tablet or mobile, replace localhost with the IP address of the Igloo Media Player (the device will need to be on the same network in order to access the player).
Navigate around the space by clicking a location in the floorplan in the bottom-left or by clicking on the image itself. You can rotate the camera by dragging across the screen in the direction of rotation. Using the URL parameter, yawLocked=1, will send the rotation to the Igloo View. This is very useful for non-360 installations.
Loading Spacewalks
Spacewalks can be loaded in to the Igloo view and Control view via the Igloo Bookmarklet. Using a separate browser tab, you can search for a spacewalk or load a spacewalk from a favourite url. Then click the Igloo bookmarklet button on the button bar. This will find the spacewalk identifier and send it to the Igloo. You can click back to the browser tab showing the Control view and navigate the new spacewalk.
The Igloo Bookmarklet is installed with igloo-cast-sources and can be found at http://localhost:800/bookmarklet/setup. As it says on the page, drag the link on to the Chrome button bar and then use it as described above.
