The Igloo Core Engine application can be licensed to run on a desktop or laptop with the purpose of preparing and testing content to use in an Igloo immersive space.

Requirements

The desktop or laptop computer must be running Windows 11 and have an NVIDIA graphics card.

Specifications

Minimum: Intel i7 processor with 16GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 1080 with 8GB VRAM.

Recommended: Intel i9 processor with 32GB RAM and NVIDIA RTX 4060 with 16GB VRAM.

An annual subscription license is required for the Igloo Core Engine application.

Overview

This license is useful for users who have limited access to an Igloo immersive space and want to prepare content in advance of viewing in the space.

The license enables Igloo Core Engine desktop to run with all layer types enabled. The license restricts the display of the Igloo Core Engine canvas to the preview tab only (screen windows, Spout and NDI output are not allowed).

The Igloo Core Engine Desktop application window appears as shown below. Use the Screen tab to preview how the content will appear in the immersive space.

Authoring

Create layers and sessions in the same way as when using Igloo Core Engine in the immersive space. Use your keyboard and mouse to interact with the content in the Canvas or Layer (to the right of Screen) tab. Preview using the Canvas and Screen tabs.

Content can be exported from Igloo Core Engine using the Session > Export Sessions and Layer > Export Layer menu options. These options create .iceSession and .iceLayer files which can be copied to the Immersive Media Player and imported into Igloo Core Engine. The import menu options are Session > Import Session, Session > Import Folder and Layer > Import Layer.

The process for transferring Session and Layer files to the other systems will depend on your local security policies and practices. Please contact your IT support team for help on this.
