WarpVR (www.warpvr.com) is a cloud-based VR authoring tool for training and education.

Integration

This integration is built by the WarpVR development team supported by the Igloo application integration team. The integration enables the 360 video output to be displayed in a suitable format for Igloo immersive spaces.

The easiest way to use WarpVR with ICE is to have a normal WebView to login and then have sessions to load specific scenarios. The sessions will have WebViews preset to 6000 x 1000 resolution plus Cubemap to Equirectangular and TruePerspective effects applied.

WarpVR Login

  1. The first step is obtain an access code for the session. Open a WebView and go to play.warpvr.com. Press the ‘I don’t have a code' button.

It’s important to have the WebView aspect ratio set to a normal portrait style in order for the menu screens to appear correctly.

  1. Enter your WarpVR account email address, e.g. demo@igloovision.com. The access code will then be sent by email to that address.

  2. When you have received the access code email, click the ‘I have a code’ button and enter the 6 digit code followed by the ‘Sign in’ button.

WarpVR Scenarios

Now that you have logged in to WarpVR, you can load sessions with preset URLs for WarpVR scenarios. The URL is in the form: http://play.warpvr.com/#/scenarios/22094/play, where 22094 is the scenario number.

To create a session, add a new WebView and set the URL to a WarpVR session. Set the WebView resolution to 6000x1000 and press the Reload page button. This will signal to WarpVR to render the scenario as a cubemap. Apply the Cubemap to Equirectangular and TruePerspective effects to the WebView layer and save the session.

Exiting Scenarios

It is recommended to close WarpVR sessions gracefully by clicking the Stop Playing button in the scenario.

If you press Home before stopping the scenario from playing, a javascript pop-up will appear requesting confirmation to leave the scenario. This pop-up will only be visible on the console display and will therefore block the system for any Canvas UI users.
