(1.4.0) Upgrade Process
The Igloo Core Engine application provides a simple update process to ensure that users can easily transition to the latest version. This documentation outlines the steps to follow to check for updates and access the installers for both Igloo Core Engine and Igloo Control Panel from within the application.

How to Upgrade to the Latest Version
Please note that an active internet connection is required for the update process to work correctly.
Step 1: Launch the Igloo Core Engine Application
Open the Igloo Core Engine application on your Windows computer.
Step 2: Navigate to the Help Menu
Once the Igloo Core Engine application is open, locate the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click on the "Help" option in the menu bar.
Step 3: Access the Update Check Option
From the Help menu, a dropdown list will appear.
Look for and click on the "Check for Updates" option.
Step 4: Check for Updates
After selecting "Check for Updates," the application will connect to the internet and initiate the update check process.
Wait for a moment as the application verifies if any updates are available.
Step 5: Download the Update
If an update is found, a download button will appear, indicating the availability of update
Click on the "Download" to begin the process.
The update will start downloading using your default internet browser.
You should now close the Igloo Core Engine application.
Step 6: Install the Update and follow the On-Screen Instructions
Run the installer you downloaded in the previous step
During the installation process, follow the on-screen instructions provided by Installer. It is recommended to leave the “Backup existing settings and files“ selected. This will create a full backup of Igloo Core Engine data prior to upgrading, the backup will be saved to C:\ProgramData\Igloo Vision\IglooCoreEngine\archivedData within a timestamped folder.
Backups can use a significant amount of storage space.
Step 7: Open Igloo Core Engine
Start the Igloo Core Engine application as normal
Congratulations! You have successfully updated Igloo Core Engine.
Please note, it is recommended to download and install the latest version of Igloo Control Panel. There is a known issue whereby the layer list is not updated in the Layers tab unless using the latest version. (1.4.0) Upgrade Process | Igloo Control Panel

How to Restore a Backup from a previous Igloo Core Engine Version
Step 1: Close the Igloo Core Engine Application
Ensure Igloo Core Engine is completely closed before proceeding.
Step 2: Locate Backup Data
During installation, backups may be created and stored in the following directory:
C:\ProgramData\Igloo Vision\IglooCoreEngine\archivedData
.Inside, you'll find timestamped folders for each backup. To restore a backup, copy the contents of the desired backup folder to:
C:\ProgramData\Igloo Vision\IglooCoreEngine

Step 3: Identify the Igloo Core Engine Version for the Backup
Navigate to the backup folder and locate the most recent log file, typically found at:
C:\ProgramData\Igloo Vision\IglooCoreEngine\archivedData\[YOUR_BACKUP]\logs
.Open the log file, and at the top, look for an entry like this:
[notice ] [Main]: [240814 220153] App version: 1.3.1.240514-6
.The version number you need to install is indicated by the "App version" entry. In this example, the required version is 1.3.1.
Step 4: Install the Required Igloo Core Engine Version
Download and install the Igloo Core Engine version identified in Step 3.
Step 5: Reopen Igloo Core Engine
Once installation is complete, reopen Igloo Core Engine to verify that the restoration is successful.
Igloo Control Panel
In addition to the Igloo Core Engine application, we also provide the Igloo Control Panel, a cross-platform companion app that enhances the functionality of Igloo Core Engine.
Step 1: Launch the Igloo Core Engine Application
Open the Igloo Core Engine application on your computer.
Step 2: Navigate to the Help Menu
Once the Igloo Core Engine application is open, locate the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click on the "Help" option in the menu bar.
Step 3: Access the Get Control Panel Option
From the Help menu, a dropdown list will appear.
Look for and click on the "Get Control Panel" option.
Step 4: Open the Download Page
Upon selecting "Get Control Panel," a webpage will open in your default web browser.
The webpage will provide download links for the various platforms, including Windows, macOS, and iOS.
Step 5: Choose the Appropriate Download Link
On the download page, identify the download link that corresponds to your operating system.
Click on the link associated with your platform to initiate the download of the Igloo Control Panel installer.
Step 6: Run the Installer
Ensure Igloo control panel is installed on the correct device, this may not be the Igloo Media Player
Once the download completes, locate the downloaded file on your computer.
Double-click on the installer file to run it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Igloo Control Panel on your system.
Step 7: Launch the Igloo Control Panel
After the installation is complete, locate and open the Igloo Control Panel application on your computer.
