First time installation
The first time setup of Igloo Nomad is basically an Unboxing excersise.
Ensure that you have all the equipment as per the order sheet for Igloo Nomad (can be provided by the procurement team)
Unpack everything, and get the microsoft surface plugged in and charging.
Surface Setup
Set it up as per standard Igloo procedure:
User account: IGV-XXX ClientName Nomad
No password
Easy sign on (no login)
No user account
No pin
Install Teamviewer
Download and install Igloo Nomad
Whilst setting up the Surface, also install it’s sim card and ensure it’s registered correctly and communicating via 4G.
Ensure you have it connected to Wifi before downloading and testing everything, just to preserve 4G download data.
Tripod Setup
The tripod setup as as per the picture to the right.
Surface mounted in tablet clamp on top of main tripod
360 Camera mounted on boom arm
Use the velcro tabs to secure the cables along the boom to the 360 camera from the surface
Also use velcro tabs to secure the charging cable for the surface to the tripod so if someone accidentally pulls it, it pulls the tripod from the bottom rather than the top.

Camera Setup
Many 360 cameras can work with Igloo Nomad. Before purchasing one please get in touch with the Igloo App Dev department to confirm it will work correctly. If it’s a newer device, it may require addition setup or development.
Insta 360 One X (X2)
Activation
To setup the device for the first time, you will need to use your phone.
You will need to download the Insta360 app (iOS or Android) and activate the camera. This will also warrent the creation of an Insta360 account. It might be a better idea to have a support account created for its use rather than pairing it to a personal account, or company user account that could be deleted.
The 360 camera will continue to work without an account, or connection to the phone it has been created with. It will just be unable to get any updates, which isn’t advised.
Enable Webcam Mode
On the camera, swipe down to open the settings tab.
Select General Settings
Select USB Mode
Select Webcam
The camera should then make a shutter noise, and turn off it’s screen. (provided it’s still plugged in and connected to the surface via the USB-C cable.
If it has a blue light on, it is functioning as a webcam.
No lights, it’s not been used and has gone to sleep. Pressing the button will wake it up. It will launch as normal when woken up, then after a few seconds detect the USB-C input and enable Wecam mode by itself.
You won’t need to change the mode again.
