Intro:

Igloo Capture now supports Igloo True Perspective - a tool that allows a user to extract the perfect subsection of an equirectangular image for your immersive environment. Igloo True Perspective is currently accessible in Igloo Capture and Igloo Web.

Igloo True Perspective requires custom configuration for each install. Usually, this is done at install where necessary or by request. If the following steps do not produce the desired effect, please get in touch with the service desk at myadvocate.igloovision.com

Enabling Igloo True Perspective in Igloo Capture

True Perspective can be enabled in the advanced settings of a capture input:

  • Right click in a capture on the left hand strip of the application. This capture should already contain equirectangular content

  • Select Edit

  • Press Show Advanced (If advanced menu is not already available

  • Select Perspective Extraction from the output tab

Enabling Igloo True Perspective in Igloo Web

Igloo Web is a similar process

  • The canvas size must be the same as the image source size for best results - this might be the resolution of the video in Youtube, or the resolution of the image. As seen in the Igloo Capture example, the equirectangular test image used here is 8192*4096, so the canvas size is set to match

  • In the settings, go to Output → Perspective extraction

  • Enable Show Preview output to preview the results in the bottom right corner of the application

As structures can differ, the outputs shown in this article are not necessarily representative of the outputs in every structure.

  • No labels
