Tablet/Ipad uses the Touch OSC application which communicates through wireless networks using the OSC protocol to control Igloo Applications running on an Igloo Media Server. Adding new/updated TouchOSC layouts will need to be synced from the media server for layout updates. Please allow UDP 8000-8020, 9000-9020, 10000 inbound \ outbound connection in the firewall settings. Make sure two way communication is possible for Ipad able to send and receive OSC messages from media server.
Firewall Rules
The following table describes ports for common services that are used by an Ipad Touch OSC, as well as the scope.
Explanation of Scopes:
Igloo Network - the network containing the Igloo related hardware i.e. media server, projectors, etc. This can be a separate VLAN,or mixed with a pre-existing network.
Outside - Corporate network sending OSC messages and / or NDI streams to the Igloo from this network, firewall rules must be in place to allow traffic through.
Inbound / Outbound - Inbound is assumed to be traffic directed at clients on the Igloo network, whereas Outbound is traffic leaving this network. This can be controlled by your gateway firewall, or intermediary security device. Windows Firewall settings on the media server itself should also match where required.
Port | Scope | Description |
UDP 9000-9020, 10000 Inbound\Outbound | Igloo Network - Required Outside Network - Optional | OSC Protocol |
UDP 8000-8020 Inbound\Outbound | Igloo Network - Required Outside Network - Optional | Protocol for syncing layouts from touch osc editor |
TCP & UDP 3001, 8086, 8080 Inbound\Outbound | Igloo Network - Required Outside Network - Not Required | Node.js services for streetview, IglooVC, GeoCV |
Igloo Media server details are shown below.
Host Name | Machine IP | Machine Address | Scope | Description |
mediaServerName | 136.186.118.11 (x.x.x.x)/dhcp | mediaServerName.domain.com | Igloo Network, Outside (optional) | OSC Protocol |
Instructions
The following are the step guide to test the touchOSC layout updates are working or not.
Open the TouchOSC application in the media server.
Select a touchOSC file by clicking on open button > navigate to the path “C:\igloo\TouchOSC” or “C:\ProgramData\Local\Igloo Vision\IglooWarper\touchOsc\IglooTabletControl-2x2-v1.16.1.4.touchosc”
Select the sync button in the TouchOSC application and pop-up window will appear stating about layout add to the TouchOSC device/ Ipad.
Open the TouchOSC application in Ipad and tap on circle button that takes to the settings.
Tap the layout in the application and make sure connection OSC ip is the media server ip.
Tap on the Add
Media server name appears under the found hosts and tap on that.
The new layout appears and tap on that which will be selected as TouchOSC layout.
Verify new layout is working and able to get information from media server.
Run the Igloo Warper and Igloo control application (both in start menu) on the media server.
Click on the Clips tab of the ToucOSC app and tap on Bank>1, now you will be able to see the clip names here. If you are not able to see the clip bank names that means network communication is not working. If you tap on the one of the clip bank tiles it will trigger the media files on the igloo Warper that means TouchOSC is sending the commands successfully, but if you are not not able see tiles names and trigger working on Igloo Warper that means TouchOSC not able to receive commands.
