The ICE application provides a seamless update process to ensure that users can easily transition to the latest version. This documentation outlines the steps to follow on Windows to check for updates and access the installer within the application.
Please note that an active internet connection is required for the update process to work correctly.
Step 1: Launch the ICE Application
Open the ICE application on your Windows computer.
Step 2: Navigate to the Help Menu
Once the ICE application is open, locate the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click on the "Help" option in the menu bar.
Step 3: Access the Update Check Option
From the Help menu, a dropdown list will appear.
Look for and click on the "Check for Updates" option.
Step 4: Check for Updates
After selecting "Check for Updates," the application will connect to the internet and initiate the update check process.
Wait for a moment as the application verifies if any updates are available.
Step 5: Download the Update
If an update is found, a download button will appear, indicating the availability of update
Click on the "Download" to begin the process.
The update will start downloading using your default internet browser.
You should now closing the ICE application.
Step 6: Install the Update and follow the On-Screen Instructions
Run the installer you downloaded in the previous step
During the installation process, follow the on-screen instructions provided by the ICE application.
It is recommended to leave the “Backup existing settings and files“ selected. This will create a full backup of ICE data prior to upgrading, the backup will be saved to C:\ProgramData\Igloo Vision\IglooCoreEngine\archivedData within a timestamped folder.
Backups can use a significant amount of storage space.
Step 6: Open ICE
Start the ICE application as normal
Congratulations! You have successfully updated ICE to version 1.1 on your Windows computer.
