Content

Video content:


If you need to put content on the system from a drive, depositing it in C:\igloo\content is usually a safe bet as the Warper ships with that as a valid media folder. The below images show a user dragging a movie file from the content folder to the control app. It's as easy as dragging and dropping!

Left-clicking on a file in the content banks will cause that video to be played in the Warper. Please note that video content should be formatted as HAP and provided with a .mov container for best results. Please refer to the content creation guidelines for more information on content.

The control app is also responsible for changing canvas-wide settings, such as vertical stretch and rotation position, as shown by the white and grey bars on the left hand side of the interface. Canvas wide settings are saved to a clip. Please note that anything that can be done in the control app can also be done in TouchOSC, which is an app pre-installed on the Igloo tablet. Settings relating to movie playback can be found on tab one, clip bank is found on tab two, and canvas-wide settings can be found on tab four, as the pictures below show:

Game engine content

Disclaimer here:This assumes pretty heavily that the build of the game engine content already has our camera package integrated, which is a requirement for playing it in the Igloo


Using an example:

  1. Find your application:
  2. Image Added
  3. Open the application and pass through any dialogue boxes that pop up. Make sure, if possible, that windowed mode is enabled. Note that the resolution of this window doesn't impact the resolution of the content the warper receives
  4. Image Added
  5. After launching the application, it should appear as an external input in the control app:
    1. Click on the config button on the control app
    2. Image Added
    3. Under Available inputs select the relevant input, followed by clicking the checkbox next to Display External Inputs

      Chapter 3: Warping


      1. Power the tablet
      2. Ensure the tablet is connected to the same network as the computer is on
      3. Open TouchOSC
      4. Open the warping tab:

      6. Using the buttons in the bottom right, ensure warping is on. Turn on the info panel, test cards, and if desired, control points using the 3 buttons labelled info, points and tcards
      7. Set the overlap. This is measured as a percentage and you can find rough values for each structures on a drawing. A blend of about 8-10 is good for a 6m cylinder with 5 standard projectors)
      8. Use the buttons on the row labelled Active Screen to switch between the grid you're currently manipulating, represented by the thick red outline on the info boxes (Screen 1 on image below)Image Modified
      9. Use the outer push buttons to select a control point, the inner push buttons to nudge the points, and the buttons labelled small, medium and large to change the size of each nudge
      10. Once warped, ensure blending is on using the blending button in the bottom right. Play some content and adjust the width and gamma until the image appears to be one seamless image

Then click on the file in the clip bank to play the video and you should see the video pop up on the screen
