A guide on installing, running and adding your own content to the Igloo Showroom system.

Prerequisites

  • You should already have either an Oculus Rift headset or a HTC Vive headset.
  • If you have never used your headset before, please take the time to run through the headset setup procedure, including any additional tutorials that begin on startup.
  • You should have your headset plugged in and initialized.

Initial Setup

Go into the software subfolder, and start the programIglooWarper-Windows-v1.15.7\Igloo360Warper-Windows.exe, and IglooControl-Windows-v1.38.0\IglooControl.exe
Tip

You may want to create shortcuts  to these programs for easier use later on. You can also pin them to your start menu.

  1. Unzip the folder structure to somewhere accessible, like your desktop.
  2. Open the Igloo Showroom 3.xx folder, and move the Igloo folder to the root of your C: Drive so that you end up with the igloo folder at the highest level.

Open the Igloo folder and navigate to the Install First directory, and systematically install each of the required pieces of software.
This includes all of the redistributables (both x32 and x64 bit versions)
Steam, and subsequently Steam VR (You will need an account)

Whilst in this folder, you can also access the Igloo Showroom 3.xx_Data folder which contains the StreamingAssets folder where there is also a folder named IglooTextures, this is where you should place any textures that you would like to see displayed on the igloo structures.

Please overwrite the current texture, to see your texture within igloo virtual.

Please save the texture in the following format before adding it.

  1. Run the IglooShowroomSetup.exe file, and follow through the installation wizard.
  2. Half way through the installation, the system will start installing a program called Igloo Warper which is required to view your own content. Follow this installation wizard too.
  3. On completion you will be asked if you would like to run the Igloo Warper, and Igloo Showroom programs, please run them.

    • Igloo Warper will look like the picture below,

      If your warper does not look like this, please follow the below instructions. Otherwise, skip ahead to point 5

    • Close the warper, and navigate to the following path: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Igloo Vision\IglooWarper
    • Open GuiSettings.xml
    • Edit the line: <showGUI>0</showGUI> to <showGUI>1</showGUI>
    • Restart the warper, it should now show the GUI window.

      You may see a warning stating that the licence is invalid. This is not an issue and will not effect Igloo Showroom in any way.

Please use the subfolder content to place your HAP encoded movies. You can then drag these onto the control app to queue them ready for playback. They can then be played by selecting the appropriate tile.

You can also use the control app to:

  • Jump forward or backward on the playhead
  • Stretch and rotate content
  • Control Fading
  • Control Looping
  • Pause and Play content

Move to the Igloo/Software/IglooVirtual 3.xx folder, and launch Igloo Showroom 3.xx.exe




  1. To view any of your own content, it will need to be placed in a specific folder for the warper to see it. Installing the warper should have created this folder for you, however if it has not please make sure you have the following folder structure on your C:/ drive.

    C:/igloo/content


    Place all of your HAP encoded movies in this content folder, and the Igloo Warper will pick them up and be able to play them.

    To play content in the igloo warper, click Media Files from the GUI, and then select the content you wish to play. It will autoplay when selected, and can be controlled by the options on the Play dropdown menu.

  2. To ensure that Igloo Virtual can see the warper, we need to activate the Spout Sender within the Warper GUI. Ensure that your spout sender is active, buy clicking Config, Scrolling down with your mouse wheel, and clicking Spout Sender. When active it should look like the picture below.

  3. You are now ready to use Igloo Showroom, you can now put on your HMD.
